4 kid-friendly activities in Dubai to keep you busy this half term

Are you pulling your hair out worried about how to keep the kids busy in Dubai this half term? Well, you’re not alone!

Most parents are as we speak battling between coming up with ideas that keep their energetic littles ones happy and finding activities that won’t break the bank. And let’s face it, in Dubai getting this balance right can be tricky!

To help you make the most out of your half term, we’ve rounded up four kid-friendly activities to do in Dubai that will not only help them burn off energy and make memories, but also make the most out of the lovely weather we are currently having – and incorporate some of our Eco Souk top picks too of course!

1) Take your Olli Ella Luggy to the beach

Whether you’re a family that heads to the beach at the break of dawn as soon as the kids are awake (and start to drive you crazy!) or you’re more of a sunset kind of gang, we need to make the most of this precious beach weather before summer starts to creep in.

Load up your Olli Ella Luggy with your little one’s favourite toys and snacks and watch as they proudly and very independently pull it along the sand themselves – in pure cuteness overload!

Why not also consider the Olli Ella matching Mama Luggy - these are roomy enough for a blanket and a book for you, should you get a moment’s peace to relax as your littles play in the sand! Plus, when you’re not using them at the beach or in the park, they make for the perfect stylish laundry basket!

2) Picnic in the park with your Olli Ella Piki basket

Another Olli Ella baby essential, no picnic in the park is complete without the gorgeous Piki basket by your side. We love to wrap up sandwiches, cut up our favourite fruit and veggies and throw some naughty choccie treats into our Olli Ella Piki baskets and head to the park. Leave the iPads and screen-time at home and instead pack a good, old-fashioned bat and ball or some board games!

In no time, your Piki picnic will have been demolished and your kids will be running around in the fresh air, burning off their excited energy as you wonder why you don’t do this more often! If your littles are anything like mine, the Piki will then be used to store some of the many “treasures” from a day outside. Here’s also not forgetting that Easter is just around the corner – the Piki makes for the cutest egg hunt companion.

Another great option is to pack your Piki with toys and head to Ripe Market at Dubai Police Academy Park on Umm Suqeim Street. Although Ripe Market is only there on the weekends, the gorgeous park is open all week long, as is the fabulous Boston Lane, which is located inside the park. Here you’ll find lots of grass, shade and a playpark to keep your kids occupied, while you enjoy coffee or some tasty food from the wonderful team at Boston Lane. Plus, there’s toilets and baby changing facilities – serious perks when it comes to taking the kids to the park!

3) Get active in the garden with kid-friendly workouts on your Wobbel Board or Bumpa Mat

If staying at home is more your thing (especially for all us mamas out there that work from home), why not keep your kids entertained, and more importantly healthy, with some outdoor fitness and vitamin D. Take your Wobbel Board and practice their balance with Wobbel yoga or roll out your Bumpa Mat – the perfect soft place for little ones – to do some stretching or even some 90’s style aerobics!

No matter what you do with your Wobbel Board or Bumpa Mat, as long as you’re having fun doing it, that’s all your kids need!

Click here to download a set of FREE printable Wobbel Yoga cards. Try out the yoga poses, Wobbel Bingo and memory game to add to the fun!

4) Go for a bike ride with your matching Olli Ella Chari’s

Did you know that your Olli Ella Chari can be added to the front of your bicycles? We love adding our matching Mama and Mini Chari’s to the front of our bikes and heading off on an adventure.

Pack it with the essentials – snacks and water and you’re ready to go!

If you don’t live in a bike friendly community, why not head out with your bikes and your Chari’s to Al Qudra Cycle Path, Al Barsha Park, or Kite Beach and lets your wheels ride free!
